In 2021, Nina Tans embarked on an exploratory journey into the intersection of art and cartography.
She began experimenting with a range of sculpting and painting tools as well as materials, pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques.
Nina's maps are made using a pliable, resin-based compound, producing a smooth hardened surface, with an eye-catching combination of mineral-pigments.
Each map reveals its own unique pattern—much like a fingerprint—impossible to replicate.
The tactile nature of the process ensures that no two pieces are ever alike, with every line, curve, and texture forming a one-of-a-kind representation.
